Distribution Warehousing and Storage Operations
  • The primary objective of the qualification is to contribute to the development of a skilled workforce as a whole. This can be done where possible by integrating NVQs and SVQs into the organisations mode's '"Of development and recognising the competence of their workforce who make up the organisation, this means the supervisors, the shop floor labourers and all those in between.
 
Who would benefit from these qualifications?
  • Distribution, Warehousing and Storage Operations NVQ/SVQ at Level 2 and 3 are suitable for those seeking recognition for their competence in one or more of a wide variety of activities including retailing, wholesaling, warehousing, stores, distribution and freight transport.
  • The Distribution, Warehousing and Storage qualifications have been designed to cover those people who:
 
At Level 2
  • work to clearly defined procedures are responsible for identifying and implementing any decisions, but. need to refer to others for final authorisation
 
At Level 3
  • work to procedures that may not always be clearly defined are responsible for planning the work are expected to take the initiative to make sure the work is completed are required to control or guide others
  • The Distribution, Warehousing and Storage Awards have been designed to allow progression through the various levels (where this is appropriate).

As a general rule, candidates who have achieved a Level 1 Award, and are moving on to a Level 2 Award, do not need to cover units already undertaken. Candidates who have achieved a Level 2 Award and are moving up to Level 3, do not need to cover units already undertaken.
