Occupational Health and Safety SVQ OverviewThe primary objective of the Occupational Health and Safety N/SVQ contribute to the development of a skilled workforce as a whole. This done, where possible, by integrating N/SVQs into the organisation’s personnel development and recognising the competence of the people make up the workforce at all levels.
You can now gain the Modern Apprentice qualification in Occupational Health and Safety based on the SVQ Level 3 qualification plus enhancements to be agreed between the candidate and AD Services (Scotland) Ltd.
This N/SVQ is suitable for those seeking recognition of their competence in a wide variety of activities including their own actions reduce risks to health and safety, monitoring and developing procedures to control risks safety, promoting a health and safety culture in the workplace, investigating and evaluating incidents and workplace, conducting an assessment of risks in the workplace, ensuring their own actions aim to protect and additionally they may review health and safety procedures in workplaces.
N/SVQs are based on national industry standards. They recognise that candidates who have demonstrated their ability to reach the standard have the skill and associated knowledge to work safely and competently at the appropriate level in their chosen area. Those not completing the full qualification can gain a certificate for the units that they have achieved.

Candidates
- There are no entry requirements or age restrictions for this qualification. It is open to any candidate who has the potential to meet the requirements. Support Provided
- EAL provides all the documentation needed to implement this qualification for assessment centres and candidates. Centres will receive support material and registered candidates receive a candidate book, complete with assessment routes to record coverage of the standards.
