Overview

• The primary objective of the Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering N/SVQ is to contribute to the development of a skilled workforce as a whole. This can be done where possible by integrating N/SVQs into the organisation’s models for personnel and business development and recognising the competence of the people who make up the workforce at all levels.
• These N/SVQs are suitable for those seeking recognition of their competence in one or more of a wide variety of activities and offer maximum flexibility to meet the needs of semi-skilled and skilled workers engaged in mechanical manufacturing engineering.
• The N/SVQs are based on national industry standards.

S/NVQs recognise that candidates who have

• demonstrated their ability to reach the standard have
• the skill and associated knowledge to work safely and
  competently at the appropriate level in their chosen
  area.
• Those not completing the full qualification can
  gain a certificate for the units that they have achieved.
