Overview
The primary objective of the Fabrication & Welding Engineering N/SVQ is to contribute to the development of a skilled workforce as a whole. This can be done where possible by integrating N/SVQs into the organisation’s models for personnel and business development and recognising the competence of the people who make up the workforce at all levels.

These N/SVQs are suitable for those seeking recognition of their competence in one more of a variety of activities and offer maximum flexibility to meet the needs of semi-skilled and skilled workers engaged in fabrication and welding engineering.

The N/SVQs are based on national industry standards.
They recognise that candidates who have demonstrated their ability to reach the standard have the skill and associated knowledge to work safely and competently at the appropriate level in their chosen area. Those not completing the full qualification can gain a certificate for the units that they have achieved..
