Engineering Technical Support
Introduction
The primary objective of the Engineering Technical Support qualifications is to contribute to the development of a skilled workforce as a whole. This can be done where possible by integrating N/SVQs into the organisation’s models for personnel and business development and recognising the competence of the people who make up the workforce at all levels.
These N/SVQs are suitable for those seeking recognition of their competence in one or more of a wide variety of activities including Engineering Drawing, Technical Services and Inspection & Testing, Quality Control, Non-Destructive Testing and Computer Control Programming.
N/SVQs are based on national industry standards. They recognise that candidates who have demonstrated their ability to reach the standard
have the skill and associated knowledge to work safely and competently at the appropriate level in their chosen area. Those not completing the full qualification can gain a certificate for the units they have achieved.
