Electrical & Electronic Servicing
Overview
The primary objective of the Electrical & Electronic Servicing N/SVQ is to contribute to the development of a skilled workforce as a whole. This can be done where possible by integrating N/SVQs into the organisation’s models for personnel and business development and recognising the competence of the people who make up the workforce at all levels.
This N/SVQ is suitable for those seeking recognition of their competence in one or more of a wide variety of activities including Service and repair of the complete range of white goods including washers, tumble dryers, refrigeration equipment, vacuum cleaners etc. The Brown Goods pathway will prepare the engineer for service work in Televisions, audio, hi-fi, and digital equipment. The pathways available ensure that this qualification offers a wide choice for candidates and employers alike when seeking an industry recognised qualification for electrical and electronics work.
N/SVQs are based on national occupational standards.
They recognise that candidates who have demonstrated their ability to reach the standard have the skill and associated knowledge to work safely and competently at the appropriate level in their chosen area. Those not completing the full qualification can gain a certificate for the units that they have achieved.
