Introduction

information overview

The primary objective of the Automotive Engineering N/SVQ is to contribute to the development of a skilled workforce as a whole. This can be done, where possible, by integrating N/SVQs into the organisation’s models for personnel development and recognising the competence of the people who make up the workforce at all levels.

This N/SVQ is suitable for those seeking recognition of their competence of vehicle fitting, body building, painting and finishing, electrical and electronic wiring and assembly, trimming, woodworking / veneering, composite manufacture, experimental/new model development or commercial and passenger carrying vehicle body building in the automotive industry.

N/SVQs are based on national industry standards. They
recognise that candidates who have demonstrated their
ability to reach the standard have the skill and associated knowledge to work safely and competently at the appropriate level in their chosen area. Those not completing the full qualification can gain a certificate for the units that they have achieved.
