In 1999 Two local business men Angus Bradford and David O’Connor who were disillusioned by the lack of opportunities within their local area believed that they could make a difference in the provision of career development within the Lanarkshire area.
David and Angus created AD Services (Scotland) Ltd with the intention of working with local employers to provide employees with practical qualifications gained through the workplace. Working in partnership with local employers, AD Services (Scotland) Ltd enabled a wide range of people to obtain Nationally Recognised Vocational Qualifications at level 2, 3, 4 and Modern Apprentice level SVQs (Scottish Vocational Qualifications) and NVQs (National Vocational Qualifications).
This produced a win-win scenario, employers gained staff with improved efficiency and skills levels and employees gained nationally recognised qualifications and increased self-esteem, confidence and the knowledge that their skills were recognised and valued by their employers.
